Raphael was born in Curitiba, South Brazil and always had an unique enthusiasm for the nature since his childhood. He started working with birds professionally in 2001, when he started his studies at the university. In 2004 he had his graduation in Biology. During the field works he filled himself with a good experince about bird ecology, taxonomy and biogeography. That experience gave him conditions to guide birding groups in many places in Brazil, from the North to the South, from the East to the West. He worked at the Natural History Museum in Curitiba as well, revising all the cientific birds collection for two years. After that, he developed several Envoronmental Impact Studies in Brazil, visiting lots of places and habitats and discovering important bird data. He had published some scientific articles, chapters in books and coordinated the Action Plans for Threatened Bird Species in Paraná State. Works ringing birds since 2001 for the National Research Center for the Wild Birds Conservation. Started leading birding tours professionally in 2006 and his experience with wild birds is incrising his knowledge and allowing him to offer a very good job as a guide. He is good with bird songs and is specialized in birding tours and photo safaris. He speaks a good English and is friendly and an easy-going person. His most interest is in finding rare birds and in showing for the group exactly what they want to see. Nowadays he woks hard in Amazon, Pantanal, Cerrado, Atlantic Forest, Araucaria Forest and Southern Grasslands. He also has an international experience, exploring birding sites in Australia, South Africa Colombia, Uruguai, Argentina and Paraguai. Raphael works full time with birds for more than 11 years.
