Tapaculos taxonomy has always been extremely challenging and with each new publication often causing much controversy and differences in opinions. During the last two decades Brazil can boast several new tapaculos species discoveries, many splits and twists and turns in taxonomy and still many exciting tapaculos discoveries/taxonomic revisions are in the pipe line!
